Roleplaycraft 1.0: The Lyconia Update

Hi everyone, I hope you’ve all had a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year!

This changelog marks the first of many: as a staff team, we’ve finally decided to just list all the changes we’ve made in blocks like this rather than announcing them one by one. And so Lyconia shall be Roleplaycraft 1.0. A new beginning!

New Map
Goodbye Anduir, hello Lyconia! We forge ahead into 1.15.1 with a new map! Whereas Anduir was 10,000x10,000 blocks and composed of islands, Lyconia will be primarily land-based and is 6,000x6,000 blocks. Currently, there are two cities you can explore and roleplay in: Lyconia (/spawn) and Icemark (/warp Icemark). Dynmap will be disabled for the time being to foster exploration.

Rank Rehaul
We’ve changed our ranking system somewhat. Down with automation!

The basic starting rank for players on the server.

This rank is awarded to players who create a forum account and register via a forum application.
Read more here: New Players - Read Me First!

Classes have been replaced with races, which you choose when you apply for Villager.

These are the current races:

  • Human
  • Dwarf
  • Elf
  • Halfling
  • Goblin
  • Half Elf
  • Gnome
  • Orc
  • Werewolf
  • Vampyre
  • Lizardfolk
  • Merfolk (aka Aquans)
  • Skyfolk (aka Ceetak)
  • Custom (Make one up!)

Our current racial lore is here: Racial Masterpost (link)

As in previous maps, players will start with 500 G. Warps will be sold for 10,000 G each. We’ll have an admin shop at spawn and continue to use the Chest Shops plugin.
If you don’t remember how to use this, just put items in a chest and place a sign over it in the following format.

Number of items
B/S Price
Item Type

No more loot crates! Instead, voting replaces jobs as a source of currency. Currently, we’ll only have Planet Minecraft as a voting site, which will give you 50 G every time you vote.

We have forums now! That’s it. We have them. They’re here!

We’ll be keeping our previous official lore, but now players can submit their own lore in the Lore category of the forum.

Lore Category:

We won’t be using the Towny plugin anymore. Just ask a staff member for a personal protection or a town protection.

If you’ve made it this far, then congrats! You must really love reading changelogs. So we implore you to read the changelog for our first expansion, which we’ll be releasing jointly with this update: the Brewmaster Expansion. See you there!
